Ductile Iron Pipes

Decades of Excellence in Pipes Supply

Ductile iron offers superior mechanical properties compared to grey iron, with strength and elasticity similar to steel pipes. It is widely used in potable water projects due to its durability and reliability.

These pipes and fittings are easy to install, unaffected by weather, and require only basic training for assembly. They meet the highest hygiene standards, preventing water contamination while withstanding high pressures.

With a lifespan of up to 60 years (and cases reaching 80–90 years), ductile iron is environmentally friendly, sustainable, and recyclable. It suits all soil types and laying methods without requiring additional bedding or soil replacement, saving time and costs.

Coatings & Linings

Ductile iron pipes are highly corrosion-resistant, lined with cement or resins, and coated with zinc and bitumen paint. Standard cement mortar lining (ISO4179) is common, with options like high alumina or sulphate-resistant cement for sewage applications.

Polyurethane lining, free of solvents, ensures excellent corrosion resistance and smooth fluid passage, making it suitable for drinking water and sewage. Additional options include ceramic epoxy lining and bitumen paint.

For external coatings, zinc + bitumen (ISO8179) is the standard, providing long-term soil protection. Other options include polyethylene sleeves, polyurethane, and enhanced zinc coatings.

Joints

Ductile iron pipes typically use push-on or mechanical joints with rubber gaskets for secure, leak-proof connections, eliminating welding. The 3–5° deflection reduces the need for extra fittings.

  • Push-on (T type): Features a single rubber gasket for a tight seal, ensuring easy and fast installation.
  • K type (Mechanical joint): A bolted joint with interchangeable components, suitable for water service.
  • Self-restrained joint: Combines flexibility and anchoring to distribute axial thrust, reducing the need for concrete anchor blocks

Grades & Standards

Our ductile iron pipes and fittings comply with ISO2531, EN545, EN598, and other international standards, meeting ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications. Coatings have WRAS approval, with compliance certificates from SGS or Bureau Veritas.

Pipes range from DN80mm to DN2600mm in C or K class, with standard lengths up to 6m. Fittings are packed in ISPM 15-certified wooden boxes or pallets, while rubber gaskets (ISO4633) are stored in plastic bags to prevent heat damage

Advanced Robotic Zinc Coating for Lasting Protection

For our Ductile Iron Pipes, we use advanced robotic technology to apply zinc coating inside the socket, ensuring superior corrosion protection. Unlike traditional methods where workers manually apply zinc-rich paint, our automated process reaches every groove and crevice with precision and consistency. This guarantees a higher standard of durability and quality.
